 crackled illumination
seeks to breathe life back
  tiny little black heart beats
  rhythm rocking,
tick-tocking
knickers knocking out
low resonating drones vibrating.
stimulating.
plucking strings taught.

strung up-strung out
hung up-hung out
dried up-dried out
skin peels back
teeth bared
monkey faced greeting
twisting in a grimaced stare;
i'm giving in.

we can not
live on hope
alone

where do i lie down in my darkest hour?

not now. not later. not ever.

erasure is etched
mirrored surfaces reflecting
inverse imagery,
nothing is what it seems,
reflection's lie.
